How to Prepare for passing the ASP Examination to become a Certified or Designated ASP Professional

(Note: Please read these recommended steps prior to purchasing the Self-Assessment Workbooks:)
  1. Purchase the appropriate BOK Self-Assessment Instrument and conduct a Self-Assessment to know where to focus your needed learnings. Have someone who knows you assist with this too, if you like.
  2. Build yourself a specific Game Plan to study for this Exam just as you would any other important degree. It should include:

    1. Review the Sample Questions on the ASP Website to get a familiarity of the kinds of questions for which to prepare.
    2. Look at the Shortened-Focused Recommended Bibliography (not the long one) and select those books to read that match up to your needs on the Self-Assessment Workbook above. Look for ones with Executive Summaries at Chapter endings too.
    3. Consider taking some Qualified ASP REPs Programs to fill in your learning needs. See the ASP website for details of these webinars, workshops, books and materials as well as Certificate Programs.
    4. Prepare for the Examination through forming Chapter Study Groups using the Lead-Think-Plan-Act Framework; including having Chapter speakers and meetings focused on the Lead-Think-Plan-Act (Check with REPs for availability too)
    5. Attend the 2011 ASP Annual Conference in Dallas in late February as the entire Conference is organized around the Lead-Think-Plan-An ct •and the Examinations themselves are given that Wednesday after the Conference at the same location.
    6. Be alert for upcoming additional Study Group aids such as e-Study Groups/webinars, and REPs Books reorganized into the Lead-Think-Plan-Act Framework. They will have all the content details in the BOK Self-Assessment Workbooks above.
