Strategic Planning: Lessons from Practice
Biography
Bill Barberg is the President and founder of Insightformation, Inc., a
management and technology consulting company based in Minneapolis, MN.
Insightformation has been helping organizations improve decision-making and
performance by leveraging leading-edge management processes supported by
innovative application of technology since 1991. For the last 5 years, Bill's
primary emphasis has been on understanding best practices surrounding the
Balanced Scorecard methodology, strategy execution and organizational alignment.
In 2001, he was the lead subject matter expert for a team of consultants that
was hired by Microsoft to develop the Microsoft Balanced Scorecard Framework
(BSCF). Starting in 2002, Bill has been the principle designer of InsightVision,
a software package based on the BSCF, and that software package was a Grand
Prize Winner in 2003 for the Microsoft Office System Partner Solution Builder
Contest. InsightVision was also the Grand Prize Winner in the Microsoft Portal
and Intranet Partner Solution campaign. Bill also provides direct consulting to
a variety of clients, helping with both Balanced Scorecard and technology
issues. He is an international speaker on strategic performance management and
the Balanced Scorecard, and a contributing author in the new book, Balanced
Scorecard -- The Management System for the 21st Century, published by the
Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India.
