Biography
Jim Ayers’ consulting experience is directed at operations improvement across
industries. These include consumer and industrial manufacturing, aerospace &
defense, government agencies, healthcare, utilities, financial institutions, and
professional services. His technical expertise includes new product development,
strategies based on operations, organization reviews, productivity improvement,
quality improvement, information systems requirements definition, lean supply
chain implementation, and a range of industrial engineering skills. Jim is a
Certified Management Consultant (CMC) and member of the Institute of Management
Consultants. He is responsible for certification and professional development in
the Southern California Chapter. He has also held leadership positions at
consulting firms Theodore Barry & Associates, Coopers & Lybrand, and Ingersoll
Engineers heading manufacturing and supply chain related practices. Jim is also
a member of the Council of Supply Chain ManagementProfessionals, the Project
Management Institute (PMI), and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME). He
has been active with the Supply-Chain Council and the ongoingdevelopment of its
SCOR model. His books include Improving Your Competitive Position: a Project
Management Approach; The Handbook of Supply Chain Management, Second Edition
(2006); Making Supply Chain Management Work: Design, Implementation,
Partnerships, Technology, and Profits (2002); and Supply Chain Project
Management: a Structured Collaborative and Measurable Approach.
