Strategic Planning: Lessons from Practice
Biography
Justin Banner is the director of corporate strategy for XanGo LLC. where he
oversees the global strategy development process. In just over a year he has
introduced a disciplined and rigorous approach to strategic planning to a
start-up company that has experienced hyper-growth over the past four years. His
lean and adept team is responsible for the entire strategy process including
industry monitoring, internal analysis, resource allocation, corporate
structure, and strategy development and execution for more than 500 employees
and operations in 15 international markets. Prior to joining XanGo Justin
worked for GE in a strategic marketing and business development function. At GE
he earned his Six-Sigma Black Belt certification and was the lead on two
full-scale Black Belt projects. Among other business development initiatives, he
headed a project at GE Plastics (automotive division) that led to a new
long-term multi-million dollar opportunity. Justin has also led other consulting
projects related to strategy and marketing with Eli Lilly and Albertsons. In
addition, he has worked for a number of years in the Natural Products industry
in marketing, market research, product development, and product management
capacities.
