Strategic Planning: Lessons from Practice
Biography
Stan Abraham is a strategist, professor, consultant, and speaker. As
professor of strategy and entrepreneurship at Cal Poly Pomona, he teaches
strategic management and entrepreneurship courses in its MBA, Professional MBA,
and undergraduate programs (scabraham@cuspomona.edu). His consulting firm,
Future By Design, helps organizations "create their future by design, not
by default." He is highly skilled at getting organizations to change to be more
competitive and profitable (futurebydesign.biz
and stan@futurebydesign.biz). He
co-founded and is past president and board member of the Association for
Strategic Planning.
Stan's second book, Strategic Planning: A Practical Guide for Competitive
Success, with CD-ROM, Thomson South-Western, 2006 is available for sale at
the conference. He is on the Board of Contributing Editors for the prestigious
journal Strategy & Leadership, and has published many articles in that journal,
including reports of every one of ASP's conferences since 2001. Stan earned his
bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of London,
England, his master's degree from MIT Sloan, and his doctorate in management
from UCLA (now UCLA Anderson).
