America's Social Shift: A Framework for Anticipating Dramatic Change, and What It Means for Storytellers
The key note presentation by Charles Kennedy will give you a new and powerful framework to interpret
current events, shifts and data. Today there is a new era in American history from a cultural
standpoint with a dynamic reinvention.
Charles will share nine specific social trends that need to be considered when planning for the
future. In this cultural shift we are starting to see to more involvement in parenting, a rise in a
need for community and a rising need for simplicity, just to name a few. Some of these changes are
observable today although others not as prevalent. Like the canary in the mine shaft Charles will
help you identify the signs of these shifts and help you understand what they mean. The impact of
these shifts will need to be considered as you develop strategic plans.
Charles will help you understand what this means for storytelling and how you communicate the
change. We are all storytellers in our marketing, planning, and communication within our
organization and with our clients and customers. As strategic planners we need to use observations
to tell and communicate "the story" of the strategic plan.
Plan on learning about how to handle the monster in your crises becoming the hero as you communicate
both internally within your organization and externally.
