Robert M. Malchione Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Technology, Avery Dennison
Robert M. Malchione is Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Technology of Avery Dennison
Corporation. Avery Dennison is a $7B global leader in pressure-sensitive technology and
self-adhesive solutions for consumer products and label materials.
Mr. Malchione joined Avery Dennison in 2000 as Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy. In 2001,
he was appointed to his current position. He is responsible for Corporate Strategy and Business
Development; Avery Research Center; Converting Ventures; and the Innovation Center.
Prior to joining Avery Dennison, Mr. Malchione worked for 16 years at the international strategy
consulting firm Boston Consulting Group in Chicago. He worked primarily with industrial companies on
a wide range of strategy issues, and was worldwide Post-Merger Integration Topic Leader. Previously,
he worked two years for Texas Instruments in Dallas as a manufacturing engineer and program manager.
Mr. Malchione was born in Wilmington, Delaware. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical
Engineering from Lehigh University in 1979, and an M.B.A. from Harvard University's Graduate School
of Business Administration in 1983.
Mr. Malchione is married to Kathleen A. Duey. They and their three daughters live in La Cañada, CA.
